Nicholas Rolnick PT, DPT, MS

I've always been fascinated by the human body and its amazing ability to recover from injury. The human body is like a machine. Machines are most efficient and effective when they are in balance. When a machine is out of balance, it takes a skilled mechanic to diagnose the imbalance and provide the remedy. As a physical therapist, I see myself as a “human performance mechanic.”

My goal is to keep my patients in perfect balance, have the skills to recognize asymmetries and help my patients enjoy the benefits of pain-free movement. I aspire to be a world class physical therapist and performance enhancement specialist. I’ve had an interest in sports and performance from my days as captain of my college baseball team, where I achieved all-conference honors, to my more recent pursuits as men’s physique competitor, stepping on stage multiple times and winning a natural bodybuilding show. Since I graduated with an M.S. in Health Promotion Management, I realized I can combine my love for fitness with my passion to help others. I graduated with my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Columbia University with academic honors and founded “The Human Performance Mechanic” to help others experience the joy of pain-free movement.

I joined SmartTools as a clinical instructor teaching evidence-based blood flow restriction therapy to practitioners across the country so I can help them foster the joy of pain-free movement with their clients/patients. I also am an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University – Chicago teaching Kinesiology I and II in the MS Applied Exercise Science Program.
